At 6:36 PM on Monday, March 25, 2019, an APD patrol officer responded to a residence in response to a threats report. A Service High student had reported to their parents that they had overheard another student stating he was going to stab someone; the parents called police. The reporting student did not have complete information on the suspect’s identity.
As a result of the patrol officer’s research during yesterday evening, and the School Resource Officers investigating the following morning, the suspect student was positively identified. School Resource Officers met the suspect student when he arrived at school this morning and took him into custody. After interviewing the student, he was arrested and charges were forwarded to the Department of Juvenile Justice. No weapons were found on the suspect.
If you see something, say something. APD is grateful to both the student who spoke up about what they overheard and to their parents who called police.
