At 8:27 PM on April 6, 2019, Anchorage Police responded to the 500-block of E 24th Avenue in reference to a vehicle prowler. A citizen called Dispatch and reported a woman was inside of her vehicle. Upon arrival officers located 33-year-old Rrita S. Coleman walking southbound on Eagle Street from E 24th. She was carrying a backpack and had a vehicle antenna in her hand. Multiple citizens pointed her out to the officers as being the suspect.
It was discovered that Coleman had climbed through the rear window of a green Ford pickup and began putting items from inside the truck into her backpack. After being confronted by a citizen, Coleman walked away taking the Ford’s antenna with her. Coleman walked across the street and attempted to open the doors of other parked vehicles.
Rrita was arrested and remanded at the Anchorage Jail on the charges of Theft, two counts of Vehicle Tampering, and Violating Conditions of Release.
