At 11:17 PM on April 9, 2019, a 2012 silver Chevy Traverse was reported as stolen to APD. The vehicle was taken from a residence on the 900-block of E 79th Avenue. The vehicle had previously been taken by a family member, 21-year-old Maquire M. Levi, and it was believed he had taken it this time as well. Levi did not have permission to drive the Chevy either time.

At 10:21 AM on April 13, 2019, Police Dispatch received a tip that the stolen vehicle was occupied and parked on the 3200-block of Mountain View Drive in a parking lot. Several patrol cars arrived in the area and blocked in the stolen Chevy; the driver did attempt to drive away but was unable to due to the pin. The officers gave commands for the occupants to exit; initially they were not compliant. Eventually 20-year-old Shania R. Agli got out of the passenger side and was taken into custody. The driver, Maquire Levi, was also taken into custody. Both were transported to the Anchorage Police Department for questioning by detectives. A subsequent search of the Traverse produced a handgun.

Agli was remanded at the Anchorage Jail on the charge of Criminal Mischief V – Riding in Stolen Vehicle. Levi was remanded on the charges of Violations of Conditions of Release for a Misdemeanor, two counts of Vehicle Theft I, three counts of Violations of Conditions of Release for a Felony, four counts of Criminal Mischief III, Resisting, Felon in Possession, and two counts of Theft II.
