On 3/12/19 at around 4:15 p.m., APD’s Investigative Support Unit (ISU) performed a high-risk traffic stop on a silver Chevy Suburban in the area of Folker Street and E 42nd Avenue.
ISU attempted to stop the Suburban and the suspect driver tried to elude the officers, striking a police vehicle which caused injury to one of the ISU officers. ISU officers were able to get the vehicle contained with the assistance of officers from Day Shift Patrol, Swing Shift Patrol, and the K9 Unit. ISU detained the adult male driver, adult male passenger, and two female passengers. The driver and male passenger were taken into custody and interviewed by APD Detectives.
The suspect driver has been identified as 35-year-old David Cash; he was remanded at the Anchorage Jail on multiple charges including Assault II, Fail to Stop at the Direction of a Police Officer, two counts of Criminal Mischief III, Reckless Driving, and Driving with a Revoked License.
The suspect male passenger has been identified as 22-year-old Ernest Ramirez-Amox, who had outstanding warrants for his arrest. He was remanded at the Anchorage Jail on his pending felony arrest warrant for Misconduct Involving Weapons I, Reckless Endangerment, Driving with a Revoked License, Violating Conditions of Release, a felony warrant for the original charge of Theft II, and a misdemeanor warrant for False Information.
