At 7:55 PM on April 7, 2020, Anchorage Police responded to reports of two males engaged in a physical fight wherein shots were fired. Officers responded to the Tesoro gas station parking lot at Old Seward and Dowling. They stopped a red 2010 Ford Sedan in the eastbound lanes of Dowling just west of Old Seward. A patrol car was damaged while officers were blocking in the sedan. The driver was 21-year-old Michael W. Davison. One of the passengers was 20-year-old Alexis C. M. De La Cruz. After all occupants were removed, officers could see drug paraphernalia in plain view inside the Ford. Subsequent to obtaining a search warrant, officers searched the Ford and recovered several different types of drugs, drug packaging, cash, a rifle, and a handgun.

Officers also stopped a 2000 blue Chevy pickup at 69th and Homer. Inside that vehicle was 46-year-old Albert E. Jackson.

Initial indications are that words were exchanged between Albert Jackson and Alexis De La Cruz while they were at the gas station. Alexis’ boyfriend, Michael Davison, exited their vehicle with a gun. A physical altercation ensued during which Albert Jackson struck Alexis De La Cruz in the face; Michael Davison produced a weapon that he and Albert Jackson fought over. Michael Davison fired the handgun more than once. There were no injuries. Afterwards everyone got back in their respective vehicles and attempted to leave the scene before police arrived. There is no indication that Michael Davison or Alexis De La Cruz knew Albert Jackson prior to the incident.

Albert Jackson was charged with Assault.

Alexis De La Cruz was charged with Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance V for medication found on her person that was prescribed to someone else.

Michael Davison was arrested and charged with Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance III, Misconduct Involving a Weapon II, and Criminal Mischief III.
