Admission includes: music from DJ Spencer Lee, a fashion show, appetizers from Smokehouse Barbecue, a silent auction, and door prizes. In addition, our community partners at the Gold Nugget Triathlon (GNT) have graciously donated entries, and lane bids, to be auctioned off for their highly competitive, 2019 GNT.

Girls on the Run Southcentral envisions a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams. Over the course of the bi-annual ten- week after school program, girls develop essential skills to help them navigate their worlds and establish a lifetime appreciation for health and fitness. The program culminates with a community service project, as well as a celebratory 5K event.

Proceeds from the event will fund full and partial program sponsorships, helping our council to serve more than 250 girls in the Anchorage and Eagle River area. In 2018, 68% of our participating girls were on full or partial scholarships. We served 258 girls attending ASD elementary schools or private schools, ages 8-13, in Anchorage and Eagle River, at 17 different school sites. The girls we serve represent a diverse demographic breakdown. As a 501(c)3, independent charitable organization, we rely on the help our dedicated volunteers, and are governed by 10 members of our Board of Directors.

Ticket sales are now active, and volunteers for the event are needed. To learn more about the program, how to volunteer or to purchase tickets please visit: www.gotrsouthcentralak.org

About Girls on the Run Southcentral

Girls on the Run is an international, non-profit prevention program that prepares girls ages 8-13 to run 3.1 miles and educates them about healthy physical, emotional, and social lifestyles. The program empowers girls at an early age to prevent the display of future at-risk behaviors, giving

girls greater self-confidence, a stronger sense of identity, a healthier body image, and a better sense of community. As an international program, Girls on the Run has served more than 300,000 girls since its creation in 1996. Girls on the Run of Southcentral Alaska is an independent council of Girls on the Run International. The program began in Anchorage in the Fall of 2011, and is delivered in the autumn and the spring at both public and private elementary schools in the Anchorage, Eagle River & Mat-Su area.
