The Anchorage Chamber Music Festival has cancelled its 8th Season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Please see the message below from Artistic Directors Christine Harada Li and Nathaniel Pierce.

Dear friends,

We are extremely disappointed to announce the cancellation of the 8th Season of the Anchorage Chamber Music Festival due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We have made this difficult decision because of several reasons: a). the artists and students who would travel from the Lower-48 and overseas; b). the unlikelihood of being able to hold concerts during the festival, many of which take place in intimate settings at homes or involve a large number of people in concert halls; and c). the hindrance caused by the pandemic in effective planning and fundraising.

As an alternative option to continue educational activities, we are moving online and offering virtual lessons, daily technique classes, and masterclasses. Please see below and refer to our Chamber Intensive ONLINE page for more information.

Every year we look forward to this concentrated, lively few weeks full of chamber music in Alaska. We will greatly miss this summer’s festival, but look forward to working with students online and being back in full swing for ACMF 2021. Until then, please stay safe and be in good health.

Warmest regards,

Christine Harada Li and Nathaniel Pierce

Co-Artistic Directors
